Imposing
Tratzberg Castle
TIME TRAVELLING BEHIND THICK WALLS
Tratzberg Castle dates back to around 1500 and served as a hunting lodge for Emperor Maximilian I and the Fuggers. The late Gothic architectural gem between Jenbach and Stans was lavishly adorned in the Renaissance and has been the residence of the Counts Enzenberg since 1848. Well-preserved and fully furnished, Tratzberg Castle offers a fascinating 'audio play tour,' also available in a fairytale version for children.
Small & fine
Rattenberg
THE CHARMING GLASS CITY
Tightly bordered by the Inn River, the medieval town of Rattenberg nestles against the castle ruins on the hill (Schlossberg). The restored townhouses are home to the nearly 600 residents of Austria's smallest town. As the "glass city," it also offers handcrafted beauty: engraved and painted glass, crystal glass, plates, bowls and more. Our tip: The glassblowers are also happy to be observed at work!
Unique
Kramsach Cemetery Museum
A RESTING PLACE OF A DIFFERENT KIND
You can ideally combine a visit to the town of Rattenberg with a tour of the so-called "Cemetery without the Dead". In the Guggenberger family's "Musterfriedhof", old treasures have found a dignified place. Visitors can reflect happily and contemplatively on the inscribed sayings about becoming and passing away.
Famous
Innsbruck
THE CAPITAL OF TIROL
Various cultural circles, historical epochs and scenic attractions come together in Innsbruck in the heart of the Alps. The city boasts many sights – definitely not to be missed is the "Goldenes Dachl" (Golden Roof) in the old town or the Alpenzoo for younger visitors.
Captivating
Silver Mine Schwaz & Gold Panning Camp
LIFE UNDERGROUND
"The mother of all mines," the largest silver mine of the Late Middle Ages, is located in Schwaz, Tyrol. Once the largest mining metropolis in the world, Schwaz today offers a deep look into the past. The Gold Panning Camp above Zell am Ziller also brings history to life. A multimedia presentation in the mine tells the story of the hard work underground, the lifestyle of the miners, and the economic and political situation.
Sublime
Kufstein Fortress
A SILENT WITNESS OF TIME
For over 800 years, Kufstein Fortress has had its visitors. In the first centuries, it was hostile armies trying to conquer the fortress. While battles had to be fought in the past to gain access, curious people are warmly welcomed today. Visitors of all ages are offered an exciting and varied program.

Historic
Museum of Tyrolean Farms
A WORLD FROM THE PAST
At the open-air museum "Tiroler Bauernhöfe" (Tyrolean Farms) in Kramsach, you can inspect 37 reconstructed original buildings – farms and outbuildings from various valleys. They are charmingly nestled into the hilly landscape and mountain backdrop, almost evoking a bit of "Heidi" feeling. Take your time and take a step back into rural living and working before industrialization.
